Limekiln Golf Club – Weekly Notes –Spring - 2016
SPRING IS HERE – 2016
We’re actually playing golf as the spring season is set to begin. That hasn’t happened for a while, so it feels good to get the season off to an early start. This e-mail is going to try to cover all the early year stuff, so forgive me if it’s a little long.
The 2016 fees are increasing somewhat, but not a whole lot. The weekend greens fee is increasing $1.00. The weekday greens fee, as well as the twilight fees remains the same. The golf cart fee is also increasing $1.00. This means the weekend fee for the morning is $59.00. The weekday fee remains $34.00 to walk, and increases to $49.00 to ride. Seniors over 65 get $3.00 off the total weekday fee, riding or not. We also have our senior special of $27.00 to walk, and $41.00 to ride before 9AM, Mon., Tues., and Wed. Ladies also get the special before 9AM price on Tues., and Thurs. Twilight, and the 9-hole fee, is $21.00 to walk, and $31.00 to ride.
Winter rates, which have been in effect since November, will end next week, the beginning of spring. Good Friday, and Easter weekend, will use the 2015 rate schedule. The 2016 rates begin Friday, April 1st. Good Friday is one of our 4 holidays. It will run like a weekend, and the fee with cart will be $57.00. A tee time is a must for Good Friday, especially if the forecast is decent.
The Associate Members will receive $5.00 of the greens fees on weekend mornings, and $3.00 off during the week, and at twilight, both weekday, and weekends. This means the price for the Associate Member on the weekend remains at $54.00, the same as last year. The Associate Member fee will be $160.00 this season.
The Associate Membership also includes a membership to the Golf Association of Philadelphia. They monitor the handicap computer located in the golf shop. All members are automatically included in the handicap computer. If you have any questions concerning the handicap computer, let someone in the golf shop know. It’s not too confusing. The GAP also sponsors many “play days” during the year. This is an opportunity to play many of the private clubs in the area, and a reasonable cost. The GAP also sponsors the spring team matches. This is a spring competition which includes almost 400 teams from 125 member clubs, public, and private. Limeklin GC will once again enter two teams in the GAP matches.
The 2016 weekend starting time program will begin on Saturday, April 9th, and Sunday April 10th. Your groups will be notified by the end of the month, and this year’s lineup will be confirmed. This is also Master’s Weekend. Our annual Masters Pro Member tournament will be conducted. Entry sheets are attached to this e-mail.
The first Sunday in April, 4/2, will be the first members tournament of the year, the Spring Better Ball. It will be starting times, beginning at 7AM. Hopefully, we be able to see at 7AM. Starting times for the tournament run until 9-9:30. It’s a make up your own foursome tournament. If you’re a single, or a twosome, let us know, and we’ll match you up. Members may bring a guest if they have a legit handicap. The format is better ball of partners, 90% handicap. Patti will serve a meatball sandwich lunch following your round. Details are attached to this e-mail.
Titleist runs a special promotion each spring, and I’m going to throw it out to you to see if there is any interest. If you buy three dozen ProV1’s, you get 1 dozen free. You may have your name, nickname, or whatever imprinted on each ball, in any one of 5 colors. Also, you may have any two digit number imprinted on all 48 balls. If you’ve played with me in the past couple of years, you know I play a number 36 ProV1, my Dad’s number on the Phillies. The balls net out to $165.00 for 4 dozen, about $41.25 per dozen. ProV1’s are normally $47.99 a dozen. I have to send in the order by early April. Let me know if you’re interested.
Don’t forget, I need your updated e-mail so we can communicate during the year. I’m looking forward to a great season. Rob
