LIMEKILN GOLF CLUB
2009 SEASON
APRIL 17TH – APRIL 18TH
It looks like we’re finally going to get a great weekend for golf. Our weekend Permanent Starting Time Program starts this weekend, so I hope to see all the regulars, as the 2009 season gets going full swing. If you’re not in the PST Program, and you need a tee time, give a call before we fill up in the mornings. There is room for singles, twosomes, or a full foursome, on both Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Obviously, last weekend was a fiasco, so we will run the better ball of partners this weekend. It’s $5 a team, and your group can have as many teams as you want. Just get to the tee early so the starters can list all the teams. Also, the Pro Member Masters Tournament will be completed by those who didn’t play last weekend.
Patty has an “Opening Weekend Buffet” scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday. The menu is Sloppy Joes, Hot Dogs & Beans, and Macaroni Salad. The cost is $7 for all you can eat.
It’s time to check your golf bag, under your mattress, or your safe deposit box, and find all those old gift certificates you haven’t redeemed. We’re running another Bridgestone special on balls. The main attraction is the new Bridgestone B330-RX. This is the ball in the red box. It’s the new “hot ball”, and is selling well in the areas of the country where they’re actually playing golf. Limekiln is offering $10 off of the purchase of 2 dozen RX’s, and Bridgestone is throwing in an Antigua longsleeved windshirt to sweeten the deal. There are other Bridgestone specials, all explained on a “Sale Flyer” attached to this e-mail.
Finally, a “save the date” heads up for the 2009 Limekiln Night at the Phillies. This year, it’s Wednesday night, May 27th against the first place Florida Marlins. Tickets will be available is a few weeks. It’s a sad week for the Phillies with the passing of Harry Kalas. I’ve known Harry since I was 15 years old, when my Dad played for the Houston Astros. I used to play “sockball” with the Astros batboys in the clubhouse during pre game batting practice. Harry was a young first year announcer with the Astros, and he’d show up and take a few cuts with the kids in the clubhouse. No matter what the circumstance, every time I’ve walked by Harry at the Phillies game, he’s always had a smile and a “how you doin’” for me. He will be greatly missed by everybody in Philadelphia.
I’m looking forward to this weekend.
