Limekiln Golf Club – Weekend Notes – April 14/15, 2012

It looks like a great weekend, weather wise, although we really could use some rain. The Better Ball was played last Saturday under cool, breezy conditions. The foursome of Wally B, Rich Faunce, Tom Whomsley, and Keith Pokrzywa, took advantage of the 100% handicap format, and dominated the scoresheet. Keith and Wally took home top honors with a 59, 11 under par. Nobody really had any excuse, as 59 is not that low under the full handicap set up. However, it wasn’t easy out there. Pat Baiocchi and Joe Buckley, along with Brian McGill and Tom Lomax grabbed second place with 9 under 61’s.

This weekend begins the Weekend Starting Time Program. We’re starting with the same schedule as last year. If any groups want to move up or down the ladder, make sure you talk to Tommy or myself this weekend. We also begin the $2 Members Tournaments this weekend.

The following Sunday, April 22^nd, is the first Sunday of the GAP Matches. This is our third year of entering two teams in the GAP Matches. Limekiln 1, made up of single digit handicappers, will play Bent Creek CC 2 of Lititz, PA. Limekiln 2, with handicaps from 10 – 14, is playing Middletown CC 2, from Langhorne PA. The home matches begin at 11:30 AM. If you’ve been asked to play in the GFAP Matches, and you haven’t returned your sign up sheet to Rob, please contact me this weekend so I can make up the schedule.
